WAKJAPAN MOVES TO TRADITIONAL HOUSE

January 21, 2010

Machiya houses are traditional wooden townhouses. Characteristics of a Machiya is narrow front side of the house going long way back to the rear areas of the home.
Due to the shape of the land (very long rectangular shap), a Machiya is often nicknamed as “Unagi no Nedoko (eel’s bedroom). Materials used are also something to look at, such as clay walls, and sliding doors covered with washi (Japanese paper.)

WAK JAPAN is very proud to be able to offer clients our Japanese culture programs in such a relax homey yet authentic atmosphere.
The programs we are able to offer are "Culture Experiences Short Programs", but due to the bigger space, we are also happy to tailor-make/arrange your favorite activities.

We look forward to serving you soon!
