Visit to tradtional houses in Kyoto and meet with the local family!

Many commoners’ houses built about a century ago are dying out in Kyoto city, but there are many local people trying hard to keep them. In this tour, customers can visit two local families houses. The 1st one is the visit to Ms. Yamada's home (open only for WAKAJAPAN customers.) Ms. Yamada is one of those trying to keep old houses enthusiastically. Ms. Yamada is very welcoming and is very happy to show you around the houses and explain how hard the family is trying hard to retain the beautiful wooden structure. A special lunch box using local Kyoto vegetables cooked in a traditional way will be served. Ms. Yamada can tell you what Kyoto locals eat for lunch these days. Then we will visit textile products wholesaler's house. This one is "high-end" merchant house and you can see which room used to be for the owner and which room is for apprentice workers.

It is an ideal way to learn local life and people as well as to see differen type of houses.
