Enjoy the beat of Taiko (traditional drum)sound and feel the excitement of the drum beating as the sound penetrates your body. At the end of the session you feel very refreshed and get a sense of accomplishment! The taiko training center is in the middle of Kyoto city and you will not miss it!

1.English speaking interprter
2. Taiko drumming teaching fee.
(Bring towel, t-shirt or underware in case you sweat alot.)

Yoshiko Morioka
I am a friendly tour guide with high communication skills and experience of introducing Japanese culture to the diplomatic community in Havana. My special interest is tea ceremony, one of the oldest and most ornate of the Japanese arts. I would love to share our exquisite culture with you when you visit Japan.
 

Procedure

  1. Please book with your preferred date and time.
    The taiko session will be either a private session or a joint session with other regular students.
  2. WAK JAPAn will issue an confirmation with the date/time.
  3. Customers will come to the Taiko studio by themselves where our English speaking staff will be waiting.
  4. Then you will first do some excercise to stretch your body. The pre-session excercise is important to avoid any accidents. Then you will be taught how to hold sticks, and begin beating. The session is about 1.5 hours.
  5. At the end of the session, you are already able to PLAY a certain tune with the instructor. With a lot of sweat, you feel the sense of accomplishment.
  6. After the session, our English speaking staff will be happy to answer any questions from the customers as well as showing them how to get back to their hotel or to the next destination.
