Special Interest Program

Enjoy sake tasting at Horino Memorial Museum, a former sake brewery, which used to produce one of the highest quality sake brands in Japan. The museum used to be the founder's house as well as the original brewery.
First you will enjoy the tour of the old wooden house. The house has many rooms and our staff will explain to you about the material used for wall/floor of the each room as well as the purposed of the rooms.
In the courtyard garden, you can find pure water springing up from the well which has never stopped for over 200 years.The water has been used for making good sake/beer and you can taste this fresh soft water.
Then You can enjoy sampling a few glasses of sake (with different alcohol content & cooked snacks) at the cafe corner. (Please note that the sake tasting may be done before the tour of the house, depending o the schedule of the museum)

1. It is possible to arrange other foreign language interpreter than English with extra charge. Please ask for details.
2. Children will be offered soft drinks instead of Sake. Full price is charged to children as well.
3. The museum is closed irregularly. Please be sure to call in advance.
4. This program does not include pick-up service.
