Customers visit a very exclusive Yuzen dying studio which is patronized by some world famous celebrities and has done a collaboration with an extremely famous French brand. Then they can enjoy dyeing two silk handkerchieves. Because of its very delicate/fine silk, it can become your own special souvenir and memory of Kyoto. (Please note that after dying experience, the extra dye color will be removed by washing and sent to you either in Japan or in your home country by post) Enjoy this exclusive experience which you would never be able to do at many other cheap dyeing studios crowded with school kids where you get your work within the same day!

28,000 yen per person (based on 2 participants or more)

The fee includes the studio tour and silk dyeing experience with the help of WAKJAPAN English speaking attendant.
Extra cost of 2800 yen/piece is needed if you would like to have your handkerchief double layered and posted. You can decide how you would like to have your work finished. Also please allow extra 30 -45 days to reach you back home.

Procedure

  1. Please specify your preferred date and time when booking.
  2. WAKJAPAN will issue a CONFIRMATION after securing your places at the studio and will send a map to the studio.
  3. Please come by yourself to the studio on the day of your tour/experience. WAKJAPAN English speaking attendant will meet with you at the entrance.
  4. You will first enjoy the tour of the studio watching craftsmen working at every stage of dyeing/washing/finishing procedures.
  5. Then you can enjoy silk-dyeing experience with the advice/support of the craftsman (The silk handkerchief is about 30 square centimeters and can be used for wrapping a small item or can be framed as a picture)
  6. Your "work of art" will be posted to you later after the extra dye stuff is removed from by professionals. Please allow extra 30-45 days for us to send your finished works to your home.
