Gion Guided walk & Try Genuine Maiko Costume at a private Maiko Costume Studio

Kyoto Guided Tour Program

What you can enjoy in this program

image
If you ever want to try on GENUINE Maiko costume at a PRIVATE studio, then this is an ideal program for you. There are many maiko costume studios in Kyoto, but most of them take many customers at one time and are very crowded and with long queue. There you will feel like being in a communal bathhouse: some putting on kimono/make-up, some taking them off. Kimonos used at these studios are of synthetic fiber, etc.
But this program is very different and of a high quality. Our Maiko studio is PRIVATE: there will not be any other customers than you(and your friends). THE KIMONOS USED IN THIS STUDIO ARE THE ONES GENUINLY USED BY REAL MAIKOS. Besides, the owner of the studio used to be a real maiko and she can explain about the details of kimono/hair ornaments, etc. You can also directly ask her about the life of maiko/geiko,etc in a very private/pleasant atmosphere.

Becoming Maiko/Samurai” whole process takes about an hour and a half including full-make ups and kimono/wig wearing then 2 studio photos. Guided Gion walk can be done either before or after the maiko costume experience. A gentleman can wear Japanese kimono as well (At the studio)
