What you can enjoy in this program

Visit to a former farmhouse and meet with the wife of a current owner. She will take you around the rooms of a farmhouse and a garden. The farmhouse does keep its original architecture and you can find many interesting thing which are becoming rare these days. Then enjoy Kimono-wearing. You can take photos of yourself with your camera. After the visit, move on to visits to the near-by sightseeing place such as Fushimi Inari with famous 1000 red torii gates and Tofukuji temple which is very famous for modern "checker board" garden.

1. Admissions to temples/sightseeing places (Although a licensed guide can get free entries to major tourist attractions) and travelling costs.
2. Lunches for yourself and the guide.

Procedure

  1. Your tour guide meets with you at the hotel lobby area, and will explain today's schedule to you. Then depart! (Travel costs will be paid by customers)
  2. The first place for you to visit is a wealthy farmer's house built a few hundreds years ago. Meet with the house owner of his wife. Then she will show you a tour of the house with spacious garden and guest rooms, etc. You can hear how she is working hard to maintain the house and the garden. Then you can enjoy Kimono-wearing with the help of our English speaking assistant. You can use your camera to take photos of yourself.
  3. Depart the farmer's residence and go for further sightseeing.
    Suggested places to visit would be: Tofukuji with modern dry-landscape gardens designed by Mirei Shigemori, Fushimi-inari shrine with 1000 red torii gates. A visit to sake breweries can also be arranged for those being interested in Japanese sake (rice wine).

  4. The guide will leave you after 8 hours since meeting with you in the morning, but she will show you how to go back to your hotel.
