Kyoto Guided Tour Program

Visit a tea instructor's residence and learn/enjoy tea ceremony. Then move on to a Daitokuji zen temple with beautiful dry landscape gardens, which is closely related with a great tea master Sen-No-Rikyu and explore his footsteps. If you wish, we can take you to a Japanese sweet shop where you can enjoy watching a sweet patisserie making a sweet for you.

1. Admissions to temples/sightseeing places (Although a licensed guide can get free entries to major tourist attractions) and travelling costs.

- Born and brought up in Kyoto. By making the best use of the profound knowledge of Kyoto, I can make your itinerary in Kyoto efficient and lots of fun! My motto is to let customers be informed of the current Japan as well as explaining about traditional culture.

- Your tour guide meets with you at the hotel lobby area, and will explain today's schedule to you. Then depart! (Travel costs will be paid by customers)
- Go to a tea instructor's house. Upon arrival, meet with the instructor and then proceed to the tea room. First the insturctor will demonstrate how-to-make tea. Then you can enjoy making tea by yourself. Spend a quiet and relaxing time with the teacher.
- Then depart the instructor's house and move on to Daitokuji temple, a highly recommended temple with various types of Zen gardens (dry landscape garden, moss-garden, and garnden with bamboo grove, etc.)
There are several restaurants for light lunches both in and out of the temple compond. Your tour guide will advise you which one is suitable in accordance with your favour.
- We can also take you to a Japanese sweet shop where you can see a craftman makes traditional sweet for you to enjoy along with tea.
- The guide will leave you after 8 hours since meeting with you in the morning, but she will show you how to go back to your hotel.
